I saw this guide giving a tour to a couple at Karnak Temple. I took some photos of him and he said that I will be very proud and he pulled a well-worn, crinkled paper out of his wallet. It was a printout of an article on the Internet that featured him and explained he was a famous guide in Luxor and had given tours to royal families from abroad. He made sure that I read it out loud from the very top—from the date and heading to the last sentence!
