Although the country Tom Gleisner, Rob Sitch and Santo Cilauro write about cannot be found on a map, the guidebook “Molvania, a Land Untouched by Modern Dentistry,” has made its way in many backpackers’ and armchair travelers’ hands, and readers can’t stop talking about the hilarious book.

A parody of traditional travel guidebooks, “Molvania”—the first in a series of Jetlag Travel Guide books— has been so popular with travel enthusiasts that message board members are keeping the joke, and the country, alive by posting questions and comments on Molvanian traditions, wedding planning opportunities and strange Molvanian creature sightings.

Tell us about yourself, where are you from and where you are right now.

My name is Tom Gleisner, I live in Melbourne, Australia, and have worked for the past 20 years writing and producing comedy with my two co-authors Rob Sitch and Santo Cilauro.

What’s "The Panel?"

"The Panel" is a weekly live talk show on Australian television, currently in its seventh year. Think "The View" except at night and with a slightly higher testosterone level.

It looks like you have some great film credits, can you tell us more about the genre you like to write and produce?

We’ve written and produced two feature films. The first was called “The Castle” (1997) and was screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
